Jon Crane, the principal of Critical PR, has been producing award-winning communications programs for decades. As a recognized expert in the fields of public relations and marketing, Jon is uniquely qualified to create a buzz, raise awareness, build an image or safeguard reputations.

Sought after as a public speaker, Jon has lectured for the Quinnipiac University Law School, National Associated Certified Public Accounting Firms, Southern Connecticut State University, Associated Builders and Contractors of CT, Albertus Magnus College, Business Travel Association NE, Briarwood College, CT Department of Labor, Naugatuck Community College, CT State Police, Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, CT Association for Homecare, Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations. Jon is also committed to improving his community, serving as a volunteer at CRIS Radio for the Blind and Print handicapped, as well as a Voting Member, Corporator and Pro Bono Advisor to the chief executive of the Greater Waterbury United Way. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Cove Center for Grieving Children, Y-Me of Connecticut, Easter Seals of Connecticut and the Connecticut Cancer Society/South Central Unit. Jon formerly served on the Board of Advisors to Boys & Girls Village and is a former member of the Town of Bethany Economic Development Commission. His volunteer work has brought such honors as the VFW Public Service Award, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Community Relations Award and the Easter Seals Board Volunteer of the Year Award.

Prior to launching Critical PR Jon was a highly acclaimed television journalist for 18 years reporting from Central America, the Caribbean and the southern United States for NBC News. During his journalism career, Jon covered everything from wars and riots to political corruption and natural disasters. He has interviewed four U.S. presidents, five vice presidents and numerous foreign dignitaries. Jon also anchored the highest rated news programs in one of the nation’s top 30 markets while simultaneously producing landmark investigative reports.
